Still works great. I modified the inside of the battery compartment to fit rechargable NiMH AAA batteries, which are just a smidgen bigger than standard batteries. The pet was missing the battery cover, so I threw together a makeshift one it can be tricky to get on and off, but it works well. Ships without batteries, they are not included, so you'll need your own. From a smoke and pet free home.
